Hello Wahoos!!

Can you believe it's already that time of the summer?? The time to start thinking about SMI 2019?? This is the biggest outdoor meet in the country, and we are privileged to be a part. The Smoky Mountain Invitational (SMI) is July 13 and 14. Kids ages 11 and up will swim on Saturday, and 10 and under will swim Sunday. This is an ALL DAY event so please plan accordingly. Once we send in our swimmers, we can't change the entries. If you haven't RSVPed on the website, please do so. We have to send our final numbers in by July 3. So please RSVP ASAP! 

Once again, once entries are made, they can't be changed. In the past we've had swimmers sign up and not show up or leave early. Parents may not think this is a big deal, but please be considerate of the other swimmers. Even if your child is not on an A relay or one that may win points, swimming in SMI is a big, fun day for kids, and the disappointment is real if their relay gets canceled. If you think your child may not be able to stay for the day, please indicate that on the RSVP.

If you are an official (Stroke & Turn, Referee or Starter) and you are willing to work a shift (or more) at SMI, please let me know. Crestwood has always been known to be super helpful with officials at SMI. It's nice to continue the tradition. We will know closer to the event what other jobs we will be assigned. (The more officials we provide, the less other jobs we are assigned.) 

We don't know warm up times yet, but expect them to be early. As always, we'll have our Crestwood tent and have lots of fun getting to know other families throughout the weekend. Get your coolers ready and pick out your games to bring to stay hydrated and entertained. There are concessions, but you are welcome (and encouraged) to bring your own food and drink. Also make sure you bring chairs and sunscreen! We will let you know more details the closer we get to the meet!!
