Good Morning, Wahoos!

If you've been around swim for awhile, you know it takes A LOT of volunteers and parental involvement to run swim meets. (If you haven't been around swim much, let me reiterate. It takes A LOT of volunteers and parental involvement to run swim meets!) 

One of the largest needs we have is for parents to get certified as officials--Stroke and Turn, Starter and Ref. S&T officials and Starters need to do the certification class and test once every two years. Refs need to do it every year. To be a Ref, you need to have been S&T for at least one year. All these things are important right now because our current Ref and Starter have kids who will be graduating in the next couple of years so we need people with younger kids to be thinking about these roles.

Crestwood has been extremely lucky over the years to have parents who have put in the work to attend the Officials Clinics that are scheduled throughout the greater Knoxville area. Here is a list of this year's clinics.  All of these are scheduled before our first meet on June 11 so you'd be ready to go for summer! There are plenty of choices here, and I will update you as GKAISA adds more. I'm hoping that getting this list early will help for planning in your busy schedules!

If you decide to go to a clinic, please let me know. As of right now, it would be really helpful to have 3 or 4 more parents attend a clinic. If you know you are still certified from last year, could you respond to this email? I know of at least one person they left off the list so I want to make sure we have everyone listed that should be.

Please consider attending a clinic this season!! We really need your help. We can't run swim meets without it!!
