Dear Wahoos,

Can you believe it?? The end of the summer swim season is here! It's already time for City Meet. It's been a great season, and I've appreciated all everyone has done to make it run smoothly.

City Meet starts this Friday with the 11 & ups swimming, and the 10 & unders swim Saturday. Finals will be on Sunday. Please check to make sure if your swimmer(s) made finals. Relays will make it many times when you didn't expect them to. The first 16 places in the preliminaries makes it to finals. 17th and 18th places are alternates, and we will let you know if your swimmer needs to come for that. City Meet is held at Allan Jones Aquatic Center on the UT campus. The actual meet starts at 9 each day, but we haven't received our warm up times yet. We will probably need to be there around 7 am so please plan for that. Our tent is conviently located at the corner of Andy Holt Ave. and UT Dr. between the SAC building and Allan Jones. Please feel free to drive up Andy Holt and drop off your chairs, coolers and swimmers then go park.

Parking is a little tricky these days. We may not park in the parking garage directly across from the aquatic center nor in any of the faculty and student parking. There are metered spaces up and down Volunteer Dr. if you get there early enough. Also we've been given use a of a shuttle if you park in the Metron down on Cumberland Ave. I've attached a map to show traffic flow. 

We still need lots of workers to sign up. All sessions are still open for timers and scribes. 

Banquet this year is on Monday night instead of Sunday night after finals. Please RSVP on the website if you haven't already. We will let you know about payment soon. It will be no more than $10 per person. Thomas Knight is putting together the slideshow for our banquet this year. You can put LABELED jump drives or CD's in the Knight folder at the pool, or upload your photos to a sharing site (such as Shutterfly) and send him a link to your directory at [email protected] He needs photos ASAP in order to get something together by Monday.

Pasta Party for the 12 & unders is at the pool on Thursday. Please bring a favorite pizza or pasta dish and drinks to share. We will also be doing popsicles and polish that day to get everyone in the City Meet spirit!! Go Wahoos! The 13 & ups have their pasta party Thursday evening at 6 pm at the Johnson's home. 2317 Black Bear Road  37923 Please have your kids bring $5 to Kyle Johnson by Thursday.
