Wahoo parents,

I wanted to follow up on recent mentions of getting your RSVPs in. Both meets this season we have had about a third of our team not participate and less than half have RSPV'd. All meets are listed on website and you can easily RSVP for all remaining meets as well as fill volunteer positions. We had to forfeit 1 relay last week, and 5 relays the week before due to insufficient swimmers competing at the meets. With a team our size, we need everyone who is in town to come and compete at the meets. It is quite possible, and has happened in the past, that if a swimmer does not come who is expected to swim on a relay, then the other 3 swimmers on that relay miss the chance to swim that event. We want all our swimmers to get the maximum opportunity to swim and compete and contribute to the team. The coaches work hard to provide the swimmers the chance to swim all they can.

Likewise, our meet director, Debbie Knight, has had a number of empty volunteer positions that have been difficult to fill. I know that filling volunteer positions can be challenge with kids to watch and care for. We have had those challenges in our family over the years, too. Please remember that it takes everyone on the team to pitch in and help where they can for us to have a great season. Thanks for all the help. It is appreciated and it makes a difference. We are excited for the rest of the season. The coaches have lots of fun activities in store for the kids.
